DEAD PRETTY top 5 make up must haves

DEAD PRETTY TOP 5 MAKEUP MUST-HAVES!

HERE ARE MY TOP 5 MAKEUP MUST-HAVES, MY TRIED AND TESTED, MY OG’S – PRODUCTS THAT I SIMPLY CANNOT AND WILL NOT LIVE WITHOUT.

1. L’Or Guerlain Make-up Primer Base – £47 for 30ml
(Disclaimer: The photo below does not belong to me)
This primer is expensive, there’s no pretending otherwise! BUT, and here’s the big but – it works and it does last a long time (even with daily use!).
The tiny gold flakes glistening in a pool of clear luxurious gel makes you feel that you are about to use something very special, and special it is. It’s soft, smooth texture makes you feel like you’ve applied a tightening mask, whilst leaving your skin hydrated and full of moisture.
I often use it on its own without applying foundation. It kisses your skin with a touch of radiance that makes you feel and look healthy and glowy – put on some eyeliner and off you go about your day!
Using it with foundation provides a sense of freedom that you don’t have to worry about your ‘glam’ wearing off throughout the day. Using this primer ensures that your ‘face’ stays on until you decide to take it off! Yes, it’s that good!
2. Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless Foundation – £6.99 for 30ml
(Disclaimer: The photo below does not belong to me)
Well, what can I say about this foundation other than it’s somewhat of an amazing find. Very inexpensive, available from the drugstore/online and offers exactly what I look for in a foundation – mattifying and pore minimising! wooo! 🙂
I’m normally in the shade 220 Natural Beige, but I do sometimes mix in a bit of 230 Natural Buff, depending on my tan situation. This applies beautifully to the skin (especially with a primer) and I don’t find that it oxidises throughout the day. I have combination skin, sometimes oily, other times i’m lucky, blessed with a clear skin day!
3. RCMA No-Color Powder – £12.00 for 3oz.
(Disclaimer: The photo below does not belong to me)
Not wanting to believe the ‘hype’ surrounding this magical setting powder, it took me a while to finally purchase it. Now, I’m so glad I did and annoyed at myself that I didn’t buy it sooner. It has certainly become a staple in my makeup collection and a product I can hand on heart say I use every time I put my ‘face’ on.
The powder is finely milled which allows a silky smooth application every time, it makes your skin feel so soft and ‘clean’ which is an added bonus, as some of the other powders I have used have felt quite ‘heavy’. I use it to set my foundation, then to ‘bake’ my face. It can also be used to clean up your contour, with it having no pigment there is no alteration to the colour of your makeup. The possibilities are endless with this little beauty!
4. Makeup Revolution Fortune Favours the Brave Palette – 30 shades for £9.99
(Disclaimer: The photo below does not belong to me)
This palette is not only beautiful, but its also very versatile. You can create a soft glam look or a full dark smokey eye with the beautiful mixture of mattes and shimmers – you really are spoilt for choice!
On a day to day basis I will more often than not use ‘Creme’ as a base after applying my eye primer, then in with ‘Buffer’ and ‘Peachy’ on my crease. Once blended, I will go in with ‘Hope’ on the outer corner, building it up to illustrate a soft smokey eye. ‘Golden Coins’ will be used all over the lid and a tiny bit of ‘New World’ as an inner corner highlight. Then I’m ready for the day, feeling ‘made up’ and confident.
5. Makeup Revolution Golden Lights Highlighter – £3 for 7.5g
(Disclaimer: The photo below does not belong to me)
Highlighters… well what can I say other than i’m obsessed with them! The highlighter trend is still going strong – with everyone reviewing and swatching all kinds of colours and finish, where the end goal is to be seen from outer space (a popular YouTuber’s well used phrase!). YouTube gurus obsessing over them, collaborating with big brands, throwing them out like they’re about to go out of fashion, but I love it!
This particular product from Makeup Revolution in ‘Golden Lights’ is one of my favourites, its so inexpensive and is ‘blinding’. I have yellow-toned skin and shades like this one are particularly flattering on my warm complexion. The packaging is cheap, but for £3 the product itself is absolutely amazing – for a more intense highlight, spritz your face with setting spray and before it dries down completely add a little more highlight to the high points of your face. (You’ll be in love I promise!)
